Register to Vote
Select your county to find your local voter registrar and official voting information
- •You must be a U.S. citizen.
- •You must be a resident of the Texas county in which you apply.
- •You must be at least 18 years old on Election Day.
In person
Visit your county voter registrar’s office to submit your application in person.
By mail
Get a paper application from your county voter registrar, a public library, a government office or a high school. Complete and sign it, then mail it to your county voter registrar.
Online form
Use the Texas Secretary of State’s online application tool, then print and sign the completed form and mail it to your county voter registrar. Filling it out online does not submit it.
Moved within Texas or changed your name? Update your existing voter registration through Texas.gov.

What does “suspense” mean?
A “suspense” flag means your county has reason to believe your registration address is outdated. Review your record and use the update portal to correct your address.
Have your VUID ready
You’ll need your Voter Unique Identifier (VUID). Find it on your voter registration card, or look it up using your name, county, date of birth and ZIP code.
